How to Schedule a Zoom Meeting Using an Authentication Profile

Authentication profiles allow hosts to restrict meeting participants to logged-in users only and even further restrict it to Zoom users whose email address uses a certain domain.

Scheduling a Zoom Meeting from the website https://zoom.us

1) When scheduling a Zoom meeting, under Meeting Options, check the box for Only authenticated users can join.

2) You will be given 3 options to choose from -

  • Zoom Sign In Required (This is Zoom’s default profile, it means anyone signed into a Zoom account can join into the meeting. No Guest Joining is Allowed)
  • DREAM Students Only (This profile only allows anyone signed into Zoom with a students.wearedream.org email account to join the meeting)
  • DREAM Staff and Students (This profile only allows anyone signed into Zoom with a wearedream.org or students.wearedream.org email account to join the meeting)

Scheduling a Zoom Meeting from within Google Calendar

1) When scheduling a Zoom Meeting from within Google Calendar, the Authentication Profile is based on what is already selected in your Chrome Zoom Scheduler Extension.

2) To change the Authentication Profile selection -

  • Click on the Zoom Meeting Scheduler icon on the upper right corner of your Chrome Browser.
  • Select the cogwheel to change Settings

  • Under Options, as before check the Only authenticated users can join box and select Authentication Profile

  • Click Save

3) Now you can schedule your Zoom Meetings in Google Calendar as you normally would with the Make it a Zoom Meeting button.

Keep in mind if you need to switch Authentication profiles, you need to change it in the Zoom Scheduler Settings BEFORE scheduling the meeting in Google Calendar.

Note: If you normally schedule Zoom Meetings in Google Calendar using the Add video conferencing button, Authentication Profiles will NOT be turned on. You will need to schedule the meeting and then Edit the meeting from within the Zoom website.
