How to troubleshoot HS student passwords

*** Thus far this school year, IT has not needed to change or reset a student's password when student login issues have been reported. ***

So, in order to troubleshoot this issue as efficiently and quickly as possible please try the following 3 steps before escalating to IT.

  1. Look up and note the student's password in the Gold Master Sheet

  2. Enter the student's password at their laptop for them. If successful, inform them it is still the same password they have been using all along.

  3. If still not successful. A possible reason could be a keyboard issue on the student's laptop which you would then verify the password by signing in as the student on your own computers.

    • With the Chrome browser active, press the ⌘ + Shift + n keys to open an Incognito window then go to https://www.gmail.com and log in as the student.

                  Remember, student ids are @students.wearedream.org.

-----------------------

Student passwords are generated by IT upon creation of their accounts. The students do not have access to change their passwords. The passwords remain static for the rest of the school year and can be found in the Gold Master Sheet that has been shared with you.

For this reason, it is highly unlikely that a student's password has been purposely modified by anyone with the exception of a compromised password.

Please contact School Ops should you need access to the Gold Master Sheet
